Healthy Snacking Zoom Fall 2022: Working with Woman to Woman, a program based at Mount Sinai Hospital, we researched and organized a presentation of our favorite nutritious snacks. We then presented and demonstrated the process of making our delicious recipes for women with gynecologic cancer via Zoom. We offered this program in English and Spanish.
Fall Bake Sale 2022: For our fall fundraiser, we enlisted the help of our volunteers and community to organize a bake sale in our local park. Similar to previous fundraisers, we donated the leftover baked goods along with a grocery gift card to a family dealing with food insecurity.his item
MOTHER’S DAY 2022: Virtual Spa Experience – To show our appreciation for the amazing Moms who work so hard to care for their children with brain cancer, we arranged for four Moms to receive special care packages filled with makeup products. Upon receiving these products, these Moms were then connected with makeup artists to teach them how to use these products for a special Mother’s Day treat!
SPRING 2022: Family Makeover Project – To help celebrate spring, Club Care partnered with a 15-year-old girl with brain cancer, her 13-year-old sister, and their Mom to arrange professional makeovers for all three of them. We treated this family to haircuts, hairstyles, professional makeup, a new wardrobe, and a huge array of beauty products. After their special day of beauty and pampering, they were provided with a gift card to go out to dinner and celebrate their new looks!
SPRING 2021: Cancer Patient Bedroom Makeover – With the world facing a global pandemic, we had to be creative and figure out a COVID-safe but impactful project. We connected with a family to design and redecorate the bedroom of a young girl battling medulloblastoma. We created an Amazon wish list and rallied our community to assist us in making this young girl’s dreams come true. We connected multiple times through Zoom discussing what her dream bedroom would look like, allowing us to turn her dream into a reality.
WINTER 2021: Family Christmas Sponsorship – We wanted to bring some holiday cheer to a family who was struggling with cancer. We spoke many times with this family of five, including a daughter with brain cancer, working hard to create a memorable Christmas for their entire family. We purchased presents and gift cards for the whole family (including their dog), Christmas decorations and treats, and a grocery gift certificate to cook their own special Christmas meal.
