With multiple families with children currently in treatment or remission, a lunch and private shopping session was set up with the generous help of American Girl Doll management. All the children were left with brand-new dolls of their liking and a 500-dollar American girl doll gift card. Extended the project to second round in Fall 2024

Hosted a social justice workshop at Beacon High School, informing over 150 students about healthcare coverage injustice in cancer screenings, predominantly affecting low-income families. Each student drafted a letter to the New York State Health Commissioner advocating for change, which was sent to the New York Department of Health.

For Valentine’s Day 2023, we wanted to celebrate the incredible oncology staff at Mount Sinai Hospital. We created Valentine’s Day gift bags with personalized notes for both in-patient and out-patient staff members from multiple care units. Our team hand-delivered each care package to the hospital staff on Valentine’s Day. 

Club Care partnered with a 15-year-old girl with brain cancer, her 13-year-old sister, and their Mom to arrange professional makeovers for all three of them. We treated this family to haircuts, hairstyles, professional makeup, a new wardrobe, and a huge array of beauty products. After their special day of beauty and pampering, they were provided with a gift card to go out to dinner and celebrate their new looks! 

For this project, we wanted to ring in the New Year by showing our appreciation to a past Club Care family. We reconnected with Derek’s family, who we worked with earlier in the year to plan his Birthday Party. We created customized gift packages based on each family member’s preferences to show our gratitude for this amazing family and to say happy holidays. We partnered with several Club Care chapters to include personalized cards in each care package. 

For our Fall Project, we connected with an 11-year-old boy who finished his treatment for medulloblastoma over the summer. With the help of Chuck E. Cheese, we collaborated to organize a memorable party for this boy. We worked with this incredible family to create Derek’s dream party and make this day special. We provided a cake, presents, decorations, party favors, and food to celebrate his birthday and being cancer-free.
